I Am Unequivically Pro LGBTQ+ and Anti Fascist Authoritarianism

A personal message about freedom, identity, and solidarity 🏳️‍🌈

I am a straight, cisgender man. I don't belong to the LGBTQ+ community, but I stand with them, now more than ever.

Why? Because what we are seeing in parts of America, and increasingly in UK political movements like Reform, is not just conservatism. It’s suppression. It’s authoritarianism wrapped in the language of "tradition" and "order."

Let’s be clear, being LGBTQ+ is not a crime, it’s not a threat. And there is no evidence to suggest LGBTQ+ people are more dangerous to others than anyone else. On the contrary, they are more likely to be victims of violence and discrimination.

What’s under attack isn’t just LGBTQ+ rights, it’s the right to exist openly, to express love, to live authentically. And that affects us all. Suppressing one group is never where it ends.

🎬 If you’ve never seen it, watch The Lives of Others. It’s about East Germany before the fall of the Berlin Wall. Artists, writers, lovers, all silenced by a state obsessed with control. It's not a warning from fiction. It's history. And history, as we know, repeats.

When I hear politicians rail against "wokeness", they aren't just dismissing ideas, they’re targeting people. They're signalling that tolerance, diversity, and empathy are things to be mocked or feared.

We’ve seen where this leads,

  • Book bans

  • Teachers gagged

  • Pride flags torn down

  • Trans people erased from healthcare and education

  • Families split by fear

This is not about “protecting children” or “preserving values”, it’s about punishing difference.

So let me say this loud and clear,
I stand with the LGBTQ+ community,
I stand against authoritarianism,
And I will not be silent while freedom is dismantled in front of us.

Whether you're gay, trans, bi, nonbinary, questioning, or just human, you deserve to live fully and freely. Anything less is an injustice.
