Popular Conservatism as espoused by humanity's foul skid mark Jacob Rees-Mogg and his group of self-obsessed, ecocentric, sociopaths, whose moral compasses only ever point in the direction of self-interest.

In reality, the notion of delivering bitter medicine to reluctant constituents lies at the heart of good and responsible governance. Civilization, the hallmark that distinguishes humanity from the animal kingdom, fundamentally revolves around replacing the law of the jungle with a system of governance aimed at leveling the playing field and ensuring equitable opportunities for all, particularly the most vulnerable and less advantaged. Sometimes, the rules for the common good are less palatable for the individual. Everything from taxes to seatbelts has always been met with personal opposition from some. We trade some personal liberties and freedoms for the good of the group.

The brand of conservatism advocated by figures like Jacob Rees-Mogg and Liz Truss, particularly their extreme right-wing iteration of Popular Conservatism, is merely a guise for self-interest and greed. Their vision of Popular Conservatism stands in direct opposition to the principles of civilization.

They have replaced physical prowess with financial power and privilege, substituting survival of the fittest with survival of the wealthiest. Their heavily right-wing version of Popular Conservatism is fundamentally antithetical to the essence of civilization.

Under the guise of patriotism and family values, reminiscent of past fascist movements, they propagate a false sense of national pride that quickly deteriorates into jingoism. Their policies, such as the contentious Rwanda bill, serve to stoke xenophobia and flout international law and common decency.

Meanwhile, they engage in asset-stripping the UK and implement measures like free ports and dubious PPE contracts that siphon resources from the poor to enrich the already affluent.

They are a disgrace by every conceivable metric and in every conceivable manner.
