Boris Leads Conservatives to 2024 Election Victory

Boris Leads Conservatives to 2024 Election Victory with Promise to Rejoin

It could never happen?

Just like Trump couldn't be President, or Liz Truss being prime minister, or the UK leaving the EU. Right?

The economic consequences of a hard Brexit deal are becoming more apparent and more widely acknowledged. That economic hardship is going to be hitting even more people by 2024. If by 2024 significantly more voters want In than Out, then would it not be an obvious vote catcher to offer Rejoin?

Some facts that might point the way:

  • In 2016 younger people were more inclined than older folk towards Remain - By 2024 many of those youngsters will be able to vote, and many of those older folk will not be alive.
  • Economic data now shows the UK lagging behind all other EU economies.
  • The Russian invasion of Ukraine makes a good case for a united and stronger Europe.
  • Evidence that foreign investment is shying away from UK post-Brexit.
  • Johnson already publicly backing Ukraine joining the EU.

So if there really was a sizeable majority in favour of rejoining by 2024, which party, already being slated to lose the next election, do you think would be sufficiently opportunistic to deliver a massive U-turn if they thought it would help them cling on to power?

And which person can you see championing such an about-face cause other than the champion of bluff and bluster?

I can see Johnson's campaign speech now:

My fellow citizens,

As we stand here today, at the crossroads of our nation's history, I ask you to join me in a call to action. A call to restore our place in the world, to secure our future, and to build a better Britain.

We have seen the consequences of our departure from the European Union, and we must take responsibility for the challenges that arose. But, friends, we must not dwell on the past. Instead, we must look to the future with hope and determination.

In a rapidly changing world, with Putin's Russia threatening the stability of our continent, it is imperative that we stand together with our European partners. And by rejoining the EU, we can face these challenges with confidence and resilience.

But we cannot simply rest on our laurels. A strong and patriotic UK must lead, not follow, in shaping the future of Europe. And by doing so, we can secure our place as a global economic powerhouse, taking advantage of the opportunities that come our way and delivering prosperity for all.

And let me tell you, that is what a Conservative government is all about: delivering for the people, securing our future, and building a better Britain.

So, my fellow citizens, I ask you to join me in this call to action. Let us come together, as one nation, to restore our place in the world and to build a brighter future for all. Vote for us and you vote for the UK to be at the forefront of Europe, the Union Jack, and twelve stars unfurled and side by side.

Together, we will prosper mightily.

Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson

If the Conservatives were to back rejoin before Labour realised it was the winning ticket this time around, just how wrong-footed would Labour be? If Labour subsequently failed to back remain they lose, if they follow suit, they look like they are just holding on to the Conservative's coattails.

The ultimate irony is that joining the EU being good for the UK would be the one thing that the Tories were not lying about!

If the next Tory manifesto was based around Rejoin, then perhaps the GE would be taken as a defacto referendum to rejoin too, allowing rejoin to proceed without an explicit referendum.

It's all conjecture and it all sounds crazy, but since 2016, crazy is where we are at!

  1. Interesting idea, but nobody would swallow it, especially not those who fund Bozo and the tories and for whom brexit has worked very nicely thank you.

    1. I hope you are right because as much as I would love the UK to rejoin the EU I would loath another Tory government. However, I would not put it past the Tories to do this if they think it would help them cling on to power.
