I Am Against The Eating of Live Human Babies

| Don't Eat Live Human Babies |
I feel compelled to let everyone know that I am against the eating of live human babies. This is a serious issue and for far too long too many people have been unwilling to publically commit to this cause. I am proposing that since rainbow ribbons, pink ribbons, black ribbons have all been used up, we all post, on Facebook, a picture of ourselves wearing an adult-sized onesie to show our solidarity with human babies.
In the name of all that's sane, where is the intelligent discourse amongst my friends and acquaintances that might go beyond pressing a button for an instant update of your profile picture with a catchy frame announcing "I stand against racism", "for gay pride", "black lives matter", or whatever patently bloody obviously, obviously sensible meme happens to be meme de jour.
Look don't get me wrong, I am pleased you are publically marking your support of these causes. Frankly, if you were not, I am not sure that we have much in common. But come on, I know so many of you, in person-to-person conversation, are capable of so much more than this lazy copy-and-paste politics. Where the hell is your voice? Let's see some cut-and-thrust!
Is that you are scared of disagreement? Are you scared of drawing attention to yourself? Is it that you just think such public discourse achieves nothing (in which case what's with the me-too, do goody, profile picture updates)?
The intelligent silence of the educated elite is being drowned out by the vociferous, voluble, vernacular of a knuckle-dragging mob (visit the Facebook groups you don't normally associate with). And I know that you know it!
If you have prospered through your chance good fortune of a great education and opportunities that see you in lucrative employment, and if you are showing up here on public forums, I put it to you that you do have an obligation to participate in the dialogue beyond pressing a button to signal that you are in favour of a cause for which there is zero chance of you being criticised. Whilst the mob can be found Trumpeting and Bojoing led, or more misled by a corruption of our political system, your silence is not so much as deafening as defeatist and damning.
Facebook has nearly 2.5 billion monthly users; hands down the largest social media site in the world. Facebook is also awash with ignorance and stupidity. If you consider yourself intelligent and informed, then don't you have a responsibility in contributing a wee bit more than the picture memes and kittens?

Why has this been copied and pasted onto Facebook, seemingly as a criticism of a post by Rowan Bosworth Davies in which he criticises Boris Johnson? Nearly all Rowan’s posts are original, he has strong views about the current government and its leader and certainly has an excellent command of the English language! I really don’t understand what you are trying to say....
